Kagato and Articuno

The title says it all~ Since there is no poisonous legendary Pokemon (no, I will not count poison-plated Arceus), I had often wondered what Kagato's legendary pick would be if he was ever lucky enough to catch one. Ultimately, I feel like Articuno is a strong fit, and I don't even know how to begin to justify it. I think it has to do with my tendency to root for the underdog. Poison (up until the release of Fairy types) were largely looked at as useless, from what I saw. When looking for the best poison types, I saw comments like "no poison type is good" or "the best teams have no poison types". Yet, Poison has always been my favorite. Articuno is an underdog in that it is the weakest among the three legendary birds. Zapdos is vulnerable only to its ice, but Moltres is resistant. Both Zapdos and Moltres have a leg up on Articuno's unfortunate Ice/Flying mix-type. Even in Pokemon 2000, Articuno got owned.

A flimsy argument at best, but there is another reason: I love Articuno. It's one of my absolute favorite legendaries. Beautiful and with a deadly moveset, if you get things right. I ended up with three versions of this, and I'll likely be posting the others soon.
